Application

Thank you for your interest in Capital Health’s Psychiatry Residency Program. Our program is structured to train four residents in each of the four years of residency. Please note that we do not offer preliminary positions. Our ACGME Program ID is 4003300003.

Information about employment salary, benefits, and recruitment can be found in a sample contract located here and in the Eligibility and Selection Policy. Offers are contingent upon satisfactory results of a background check and drug screening.

Application Process

We accept applications through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). Interviews are by invitation only. If invited, you will receive notification via the email address supplied through ERAS.

All residency positions in the program are offered through the NRMP Match. We do not offer pre-match positions. To assure a fair selection process, we strives to follow the NRMP Match Communication Code of Conduct. Applicants should also review the NRMP statement on professionalism and the Match.

Our criteria for applicants:

  • A passing score of at least 220 on each USMLE exam or 410 on COMLEX.   
  • Applicants must be either graduates of U.S. medical schools, seniors in U.S. medical schools, or international graduates with valid ECFMG certifications.
  • Applicants must have graduated from medical school within the last five years.
  • At the present time, Capital Health does not support J1 visas. To be considered, applicants must be United States citizens or permanent residents (green-card holders).

Application must include:

  • Medical school transcripts.
  • Three letters of recommendation.
  • Dean’s letter/MSPE.
  • ECFMG certification (if an international medical graduate).
  • Official USMLE and/or COMLEX transcript.
  • Personal statement.

Only fully completed applications will be reviewed.
