What drew you to the program: The commitment to resident wellness and personal growth. The faculty conveyed a heartfelt commitment to helping each resident obtain the necessary training to achieve our own individual, professional goals, while also taking care of our physical and mental well-being throughout the process.

Fun Fact: I’ve been skydiving!

 

Johnika Dougan-ChasteauJohnika Dougan-Chasteau, MD

Hometown: Brooklyn, NY

Medical School: St. George’s University School of Medicine

What drew you to the program: I was immediately drawn to Capital Health Family Medicine Residency after my interview. I felt a strong sense of camaraderie among the residents and was impressed but the supportive learning environment provided by the faculty. I also appreciated this programs commitment to community-focused initiatives and its dedication to delivering high-quality care to underserved populations.

Fun Fact: I am a spicy food lover and can never say no to a fiery meal. When not exploring pepper sauces, I love winding down with ASMR videos and spending quality time with my loved ones.

What drew you to the program: The patient population and location initially drew me into the program but what made it stand out was the people. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and welcoming and happy to be training at Capital Health. I am excited to join them.

Fun Fact: I am the only person with the name "Sprikena" in the world.

Medical School: Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine

What drew you to the program: I was drawn to this program because of its truly supportive and collaborative culture. From my interview day onward, I have felt so welcomed by everyone. The strong commitment to serving the community, its focus on continuity of care, and the chance to grow in a team-based, compassionate environment drew me to the program.

Fun Fact: I love traveling, playing pickleball, and finding joy in playing piano and guitar!

What drew you to the program: What stood out most to me was the program’s supportive and welcoming culture — I immediately felt like I could be myself here. Everyone I interacted with, from faculty to residents, made it feel like a true community committed to helping each other grow. Being close to my family and support system outside of medicine made it an even more perfect fit.

Fun Fact: I can quote almost every episode of Friends.

What drew you to the program: How passionate the program is about community health, education, and advocacy for underserved populations. Countless opportunities and endless support to build my own career interests in reproductive and women's health. An incredibly driven and empowering group of physicians I feel honored to train with!

Fun Fact: I was part of a competitive A Cappella team in college. Think Pitch Perfect, but in real life!
