PGY-1 (Class of 2019)

Michelle Patterson (Link), PharmD 

Dr. Michelle Patterson (Link) is from Springfield, PA and earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Thomas Jefferson University’s College of Pharmacy in May of 2015. During her time as a student, Dr. Link worked as an intern at Giant Pharmacy in Aldan, PA. After graduation, she worked as a floater and then staff pharmacist for Giant, mostly at their Wynnewood, PA store. She also volunteered weekly at Community Volunteers in Medicine in West Chester, PA. Additionally, she was a preceptor for Jefferson pharmacy students and a lab instructor for Jefferson’s Pharmacy Practice Lab.

Her professional interests include academia, internal medicine, and diabetes/ ambulatory care. Because of these interests, she has earned The Pharmacist and Patient-Centered Diabetes Care certificate through the American Pharmacists Association. During PGY-1, Dr. Link plans to earn a teaching certificate in hopes of pursuing a career in academia.

Jenny Shan, PharmD

Dr. Jenny Shan is from Lake Hopatcong, NJ and graduated from the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University in May 2018. During school, Jenny worked as a pharmacy intern at Walgreens, completed a summer internship at CareSpeak Communications, a health care technology start-up company, and was heavily involved in the Rutgers student chapters of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR).

Jenny wants to earn a teaching certificate during her PGY-1 residency at Capital Health. Her post-residency plans include pursuing a career in ambulatory care or transitions of care pharmacy and obtaining a management position further down the line. Outside of pharmacy, Jenny’s interests include painting and golfing.
