Capital Health Maternal Fetal Medicine provides support services to patients of obstetric and gynecologic providers in our community. With office locations in Hamilton and Pennington, our multidisciplinary team includes board certified perinatologists, master's-prepared genetic counselors, registered nurses, a certified diabetic educator, and registered sonographers.
What We Offer
- Consultative services for every aspect of a patient's care, from preconception to postpartum for high-risk patients with medical, obstetric, and genetic risks.
- Comprehensive ultrasound services for all pregnant women, including first trimester screenings, detailed anatomy scans, and growth and fetal well-being evaluations.
- Genetic counseling and chromosome screening and testing via fetal DNA in maternal serum, nuchal translucency screening, CVS, and amniocentesis (available at both Capital Health Medical Center - Hopewell and Capital Health Regional Medical Center).
- Nutrition counseling and diabetic management by a certified diabetic educator, including ongoing management and support for women with both pre-existing and gestational diabetes.
- Fetal echocardiography services provided by a pediatric cardiologist at Capital Health Medical Center - Hopewell to evaluate babies at risk for heart abnormalities.
- Certified sonographers dedicated to the performance of professional and comprehensive ultrasounds to meet the particular needs of all our patients. Our practice is accredited by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM).
High Risk Prenatal Pregnancies
In Mercer and Bucks counties, Capital Health has the only:
- Regional Perinatal Center located at Capital Health Medical Center - Hopewell, including maternal fetal medicine services, maternity services, and both level II and level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)
- Instant result reporting for first trimester screenings for Down syndrome and trisomy 18

- On-site fetal echocardiogram
- Genetic counseling
- Advanced digital and 3D ultrasounds (read by board certified maternal fetal medicine specialists)
