Ashley Vellucci, Urologic Oncology Nurse Navigator, joined Capital Health in 2019. As part of Capital Health Urology Specialists, Ashley provides cancer-specific clinical education that focuses on the bladder, prostate, kidneys, and testicles as well as supportive resources available throughout the community. Ashley delivers individualized assistance to patients, families, and caregivers to help them overcome the health care system barriers they may face. The journey from the initial diagnosis of cancer, to cancer treatment, and ultimately survivorship can be a challenging time both physically and emotionally. Communication is key in providing the best possible care during that time. Ashley works to bridge the gap of communication that can occur between patients and their multidisciplinary care teams.
Ashley began her nursing career at the bedside as an oncology nurse at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset, formerly known as Somerset Medical Center. It was here that she gained experience and recognition for providing quality-based care for her patients. Ashley received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Kean University in Union, New Jersey and holds a certification in urology and medical-surgical nursing.
