Long Time Area Resident Named New Chief Nursing Officer for Capital Health

Capital Health has named Melissa Chichilitti as the organization’s new chief nursing officer. In this role, Chichilitti is responsible for nursing and patient care services at Capital Health, including adult and pediatric nursing, Maternal Child Health Services, adult and pediatric clinics, ICU/CCU, adult and pediatric emergency departments, operating rooms, observation units, Respiratory Therapy, and Mental Health and Dialysis departments. 

“Melissa started with Capital Health as a unit secretary more than 25 years ago, and after becoming a nurse, she has held progressively responsible roles, from staff nurse in the Medical-Surgical ICU to Associate Chief Nursing Officer at Capital Health Regional Medical Center,” said Arlene Walsh, Chief Operating Officer at Capital Health. “With nursing leadership experience across service lines and departments, Melissa has a deep understanding of the complex processes that drive our organization and the passion to continue the award-winning tradition of patient care that she helped establish.”

A graduate of Neshaminy High School in Langhorne, PA, Melissa earned her Master of Science in Nursing from The College of New Jersey and her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Drexel University. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology from Kutztown University. She also holds a certification as a critical care registered nurse.
