Dr. Dennis Quinlan received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ)—New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. He completed his general surgery residency and received fellowship training in cardiothoracic surgery at UMDNJ—New Jersey Medical School. He also completed a surgical critical care fellowship at Christiana Care in Newark, DE.
Dr. Quinlan is board certified in general surgery, critical care and thoracic surgery. His triple board certification is unique among trauma surgeons in the state of New Jersey.

Michael E. Kelly, DO, FACOS
Associate Medical Director

Dr. Michael E. Kelly is a fellowship trained critical care surgeon with extensive experience in general surgery and trauma surgery. Prior to joining Capital Health, Dr. Kelly was a surgical critical care fellow at Cooper University Medical Center in Camden, NJ where he received training in both trauma surgery and critical care.

Dr. Leahna Cooney is a board certified, fellowship trained critical care surgeon with experience in trauma and emergency general surgery. Her clinical interests include abdominal wall reconstruction, chest wall trauma, disaster preparedness, community outreach, and educating medical learners.

Niveen Hanna, MD, FACS

Dr. Niveen Hanna is available to both medical and surgical colleagues alike for immediate consultation on complex or unusual acute care, surgical critical care and general surgical cases. She specializes in elective as well as emergent general surgical procedures, including complex re-operative surgery, complex abdominal wall reconstruction/hernia repair using component separation and complex wound care and fistula care management.

Dr. Nikolas Kappy is a fellowship trained trauma and critical care surgeon and a board
certified general surgeon.
Dr. Kappy received his medical degree from Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School, in Newark NJ and completed his general surgery residency at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ, where he was a research fellow in the Department of Surgery and also served as general surgery administrative chief resident. He completed his fellowship training in trauma and surgical critical care at UC San Diego Health in San Diego, CA.

Andrew S. Litwin, MD
Dr. Andrew Litwin is a board certified, fellowship trained critical care surgeon. He received his medical
degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, where he also served as a teaching assistant
for first-year medical students. Dr. Litwin completed his general surgery residency at Baystate Medical
Center – University of Massachusetts Medical School in Springfield, Massachusetts, where he was named Resident as Teacher at the Baystate Simulation Center & Goldberg Surgical Skills Lab. Dr. Litwin completed fellowship training in surgical intensive care at New Jersey Medical Center- Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey.
