Capital Health Recognized for a Century of Membership in the American Hospital Association

The American Hospital Association (AHA) announced that it has honored Capital Health in Trenton, New Jersey in appreciation for its 100 years of participation and leadership in the AHA.

“The American Hospital Association is proud to recognize Capital Health for 100 years of membership in the AHA and for their dedication to the Mercer, Bucks and Burlington county areas,” said AHA Regional Executive Michael Draine. “We thank their leaders, medical staff, caregivers and other colleagues for providing a full range of medical care that is tailored to meet each patient’s needs.”

Capital Health serves as a Level II regional trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, regional perinatal center and emergency health screening center. In addition, Capital Health offers cardiac surgery services, a comprehensive cancer center and the region’s first and most experienced pediatric emergency department.

Today’s Capital Health includes two acute care hospitals Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton and Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell, in addition to outpatient facilities and an extensive primary and specialty care network. Its roots began in Trenton in the late1880’s as William McKinley Hospital.
