Thoracic Surgery

Thoracic surgery is used to treat diseased or injured organs in the chest. Dr. Africa Wallace, director of Thoracic Surgery at Capital Health, performs procedures to treat cancer and other conditions, with a focus on minimally invasive approaches such as the da Vinci surgical system or video-assisted techniques. Working closely with colleagues in oncology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and other related areas of specialization, we provide comprehensive surgical management of diseases that affect the:

Dr. Wallace also performs port placement for central venous access (chemotherapy) and provides diagnostic information for patients with lymphoma, sarcoidosis, germ cell tumors, and interstitial lung disease.

Thoracic surgery services are provided at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell, where patients and referring physicians can find a wide range of advanced care options that until recently were only found in large cities such as Philadelphia and New York City. In addition, our office location in the medical office building at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell allows physicians to collaborate with colleagues across disciplines as needed and gives patients easy access to a wide range of other specialists and leading edge diagnostic and imaging services that are available there under one roof.
