Curriculum

Capital Health’s Nurse Residency and Mentoring Program curriculum is made up of a series of real-world applications, simulations, case studies, debriefing conversations, mentoring, and discussion led by content experts.

Key components of the program:

  • Curricula includes skills that are challenging to navigate such as ethics, communication, prioritization, and delegation.
  • Cohorts meet four hours each month over a period of 12 months.
  • Mentored relationships with trusted program coordinators and facilitators.
  • Implementation of an evidence-based practice project.
  • Intentional guidance on creating a professional development plan to identify individual growth opportunities.

One of the most substantial benefits of the program is the support the nurse residents receive every month from their coordinators and peers during dedicated time for clinical reflection. This distinguishes Vizient/AACN NRP™ from similar transition programs.

Capital Health is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Practice Transition Accreditation Program for demonstrating excellence in transitioning nurses to new practice settings.
