Debra Slemmer is a certified diabetes care and education specialist with more than 30 years of nursing experience in a variety of clinical settings. As part of Capital Health – Endocrinology Specialists, Debra is responsible for individual and group diabetes self-management education training.
Debra received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing degree. She has been a certified diabetes care and education specialist since 2008. Before joining Capital Health, Deborah was a diabetes nurse educator for health care systems in central and southern New Jersey. She is a member of the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists and has published research on diabetes guidelines and education in professional medical journals.
