Our board certified thoracic surgeon, Dr. Africa Wallace, specializes in minimally invasive cardiothoracic procedures using robotic-assisted and video-assisted thorascopic surgery (VATS) technology. For patients diagnosed with cancer, surgeons are part of a multidisciplinary team that delivers personalized, integrated cancer care, along with other medical experts and specialists.
Advanced Technology in Surgical Procedures
In addition to traditional surgery, Dr. Wallace offers minimally invasive, robotic-assisted surgery using the da Vinci® Surgical System. The benefits of minimally invasive surgery can include smaller incisions, less blood loss, decreased scarring, fewer surgical complications, faster recovery, and a shorter hospital stay. Thoracic surgeries are performed at Capital Health Medical Center - Hopewell.
