DNV Quality and Patient Safety Accreditation

Capital Health has earned hospital accreditation from DNV – Healthcare, a certification body that helps health care organizations achieve excellence by improving quality and patient safety. Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell and Capital Health Regional Medical Center demonstrate that they meet or exceed patient safety standards and Conditions of Participation set forth by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Magnet Recognition for Nursing Excellence

The American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet Recognition Program® identifies superior quality in nursing care by evaluating performance outcomes. Magnet recognition is the highest national honor for nursing practice.

LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality High Performer

This designation from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation demonstrates Capital Health’s ongoing commitment to upholding a model of equality and respect for our LGBTQ+ patients, visitors, and staff and providing a safe and welcoming environment throughout our organization.

College of American Pathologists (CAP) Accreditation

All Capital Health laboratories, both clinical and anatomic, voluntarily submit to CAP's peer-based inspection model. On-site inspections occur every two years using CAP Accreditation Checklists to assess Capital Health’s compliance with program requirements.

DNV Comprehensive Stroke Center and New Jersey State-Designated Comprehensive Stroke Center

DNV certification recognizes hospitals that are able to receive and treat the most complex stroke patients.

American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Gold Plus Get with The Guidelines® Stroke Quality Achievement Award

This recognizes our commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines.

Level II New Jersey State-Designated Trauma Center

The Bristol Myers Squibb Trauma Center at Capital Health Regional Medical Center is one of only 10 designated trauma centers in New Jersey and the regional referral center for injured patients in Mercer County and adjacent parts of Somerset, Hunterdon, Burlington, and Middlesex counties as well as nearby areas of Pennsylvania.

The Commission on Cancer (CoC), a program of the American College of Surgeons, awarded Capital Health Cancer Center this accreditation for meeting 34 CoC quality care standards and maintaining levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care.

American College of Surgeons (ACS) National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC)

Our Center for Comprehensive Breast Care is accredited by the NAPBC for following a model for organizing and managing a breast center to facilitate multidisciplinary, integrated, and comprehensive breast cancer services.

Baby-Friendly USA

Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell has achieved this designation for meeting the highest standards of care for breastfeeding parents and their babies. Standards are based on evidence-based practices recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) for optimal infant feeding support in the precious first days of a newborn’s life.

Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention)

This accreditation from the American College of Cardiology is earned for meeting systemwide quality-of-care measures and implementing necessary protocols, processes, and systems. It demonstrates Capital Health’s commitment to an evidence-based approach to care that can reduce the time to treatment during the critical early stages of a heart attack.
