Capital Health Earns National Accreditation for Quality and Safety in Radiation Oncology

Capital Health Medical Center — Hopewell, home of Capital Health Cancer Center, has been awarded a three-year term of reaccreditation in radiation oncology by the American College of Radiology (ACR) which recognizes the program’s commitment to the highest standards of quality and patient safety.

The ACR awards accreditation only to radiation oncology programs that demonstrate excellence through a rigorous peer-review process evaluating personnel qualifications, treatment planning and delivery, equipment, quality assurance, and patient safety practices.

Radiation oncology is the specialized use of high-energy radiation to destroy cancer cells, shrink tumors, or relieve cancer-related symptoms.
