Learning Objectives

• Develop understanding of stages of litigation and common clinical missteps that can lead to litigation
• Enhance documentation and patient communication, both through efficient charting and discussions with patients and families
• Discuss and analyze concerns related to artificial intelligence in patient care, and issues in litigation that can arise from use of AI
• Enrich understanding of patient safety tools, including serious event review and peer review, as well as admissibility of same
• Discuss and analyze strategies for effectively caring for patients who present a challenge in communication and cooperation
• Develop understanding of law related to accommodation and disability, especially as it relates to the healthcare setting
