Jamal Hussain, MDJamal Hussain, MD
Program Director

Dr. Jamal Hussain is an attending physician in the Emergency Departments at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell and Capital Health Regional Medical Center and has more than 20 years of experience in emergency medicine.

Dr. Hussain recieved his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey and completed his emergency medicine residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York. Dr. Hussain is board certified in Emergency Medicine and is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Before joining Capital Health, Dr. Hussain was an emergency medicine consultant physician at a teaching hospital in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates for 11 years, where he also served as the Emergency Medicine Residency associate program director, and later, program director.

Anuja Trivedi, DO, MPHAnuja Trivedi, DO, MPH
Associate Program Director

Dr. Trivedi is a physician in the Emergency Department at Capital Health Regional Medical Center. She received her medical degree at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York and received her Master of Public Health degree (with a concentration in health systems and policy) at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Trivedi completed her emergency medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Lara Samson, MDLara Samson, MD

Dr. Samson is the medical director of the Chest Pain Center at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell and an emergency medicine physician at Capital Health. She provides care for patients in the Emergency Department and the Pediatric Emergency Department at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell and the Emergency Department at Capital Health Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Samson received her medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she also received her Master of Medical Science degree. She completed her emergency medicine residency at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. Dr. Samson is board certified and a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).

Before joining the Emergency Medicine Residency program, Dr. Samson instructed physician assistant students and internal medicine residents on their emergency medicine rotations. She is a member of the American Association of Emergency Medicine and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.

Sonia Shah, DOSonia Shah, DO

Dr. Sonia Shah is an attending emergency medicine physician at Capital Health. After receiving her medical degree at Kansas City University in Kansas City, Missouri, she completed her emergency medicine residency at Swedish Hospital, part of NorthShore University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. She went on to complete fellowships in Simulation Medicine and Medical Education, Research, Innovation and Technology (MERITS) at the University of Chicago.

Dr. Shah is a member of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine and American College of Emergency Physicians.

Matthew Tripod, MDMatthew Tripod, MD

Dr. Tripod is an attending physician in the Emergency Department at Capital Health Regional Medical Center and Capital Health Medical Center - Hopewell. After receiving his medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) in Norfolk, Virginia, Dr. Tripod completed an emergency medicine residency at Temple University Hospital (TUH) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also completed an Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship at Temple University Hospital.

Kyle Wasserman, MDKyle Wassermann, MD

Dr. Wassermann is an attending physician in the Emergency Department (ED) at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell and has previously instructed Capital Health’s internal medicine residents as part of their ED rotation.

Board certified in emergency medicine, Dr. Wassermann received his medical degree at Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Connecticut in Farmington, Connecticut.

Before joining Capital Health, Dr. Wassermann was a clinical instructor of Emergency Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He contributes to Capital Health’s Opioid Stewardship Committee, Critical Care Committee, and the Internal Medicine Residency Program, and is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
