Dr. Alexander Lalos is a double board certified, fellowship trained hepatologist with nearly four decades of clinical experience. Dr. Lalos specializes in diagnosing and treating patients with liver and biliary system conditions, including steatotic liver disease, viral hepatitis, autoimmune liver disease, cirrhosis, and related conditions.
After completing his undergraduate studies at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Dr. Lalos received his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia, followed by a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, Connecticut. Dr. Lalos was fellowship trained in hepatology at the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. He is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine.
Before joining Capital Health Hepatology Specialists, Dr. Lalos provided care for patients at Rutgers/Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where he also served as an associate professor of Medicine. In 2023, Dr. Lalos received the school’s Educator of the Year award for his instruction in gastroenterology. At Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Dr. Lalos was director of Liver Masses, where he worked directly with the Department of Oncology in the field of liver cancer.
Dr. Lalos has published and presented research professional medical journals and at national conferences. He is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
