The Body Positive: Creating Positive Body Image and Improving Self-Esteem

Are you looking to improve body image and self-esteem? Body confidence and positive self-esteem have been shown to reduce body dissatisfaction, negative mood, unhealthy dieting and disordered eating. This group for adults ages 18 and older engages participants in the development of a healthy body image by acknowledging unrealistic beauty ideals and challenging personal body-related negative thinking. Join Jenna Straus, a licensed clinical social worker from Capital Health – Behavioral Health Specialists, as she leads you through an in person eight-week skill building program where you will:

  • Learn how to feel good about your body
  • Discover the effects of social media on self-esteem
  • Increase awareness of distorted thinking and beliefs
  • Encourage an acceptance of self and appearance
  • Foster an understanding of body positivity
  • Learn self-care strategies to manage stress
  • Develop a healthy relationship with yourself
  • Acquire coping skills to better manage negative thoughts and feelings

This group therapy program will be billed to your health insurance.
