Nurse Advocates for GI Cancer Patients

Those who are dealing with a gastrointestinal (GI) tract cancer diagnosis have a lot to think about, but at Capital Health, there is someone to assist them through this confusing time.

Meet Margo Creevey

Margo is Capital Health’s GI cancer nurse navigator, a nurse with advanced oncology certification from the Oncology Nursing Society and almost 30 years of experience in various areas of cancer care.

“When someone is told they have cancer, they are scared and overwhelmed with many thoughts and emotions. My role is to assist patients and their families by being a constant resource throughout your journey,” said Margo.

“I can help explain and facilitate your treatment plan, assist with communication between you and your healthcare team, as well as provide education and resources that allow you to focus on your treatment and returning to better health.”

Margo helps patients at no additional cost. Her services are among the many support programs offered at Capital Health through its Center for Oncology and Center for Digestive Health.
