Speak with the Certified Diabetes Educator

Are you newly diagnosed with diabetes? Have you had diabetes for years but still feel out of control? Do you have questions regarding your management of your diabetes? A certified diabetes care and education specialist (CDCES) is a healthcare professional who possesses comprehensive knowledge and experience in the management of diabetes, pre-diabetes, and diabetes prevention. Spend an hour with Laura Moran, our registered nurse and CDCES, to answer any questions or concerns related to your diabetes care.

Topics to be discussed will vary with each class according to questions and needs of those present. Topics may include:

  • Managing Pre-Diabetes
  • Knowing Your Numbers – A1C, blood glucose goals, carb count, weight, blood pressure, and cholesterol
  • Foot and Skin Care
  • Preventing Complications
  • Medications
  • Exercise Principles

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all sessions will be taking place virtually using Zoom. A call-in option is available for those without video access. Meeting details will be provided via email 1-2 days before the program date.
