Are you newly diagnosed with diabetes? Have you had diabetes for years but still feel out of control? Do you have questions regarding your management of your diabetes? A certified diabetes care and education specialist (CDCES) is a healthcare professional who possesses comprehensive knowledge and experience in the management of diabetes, pre-diabetes, and diabetes prevention. Spend an hour with our diabetes education team to get answers to any questions or concerns you have related to your diabetes care.
Topics to be discussed will vary with each class according to questions and needs of those present. Topics may include:
- Managing Pre-Diabetes
- Knowing Your Numbers – A1C, blood glucose goals, carb count, weight, blood pressure, and cholesterol
- Foot and Skin Care
- Preventing Complications
- Medications
- Exercise Principles
Online classes will be held using Zoom. A call-in option is available for those without video access. Meeting details will be provided via email 1-2 days before the program date.
