Oncology Social Work

Support you can count on.

A cancer diagnosis brings so many questions, you might not know where to start. That’s why it helps to have someone there who can guide you through this journey and give you advice when you don’t know what comes next.

At Capital Health, our social workers are here to provide you with supportive counseling about your cancer diagnosis and treatment. Whether you’re dealing with emotional discomfort, or worried about your financial situation or practical needs, we can make sure you find the right kind of help at the right time.

Each of our team members is trained to learn about their patients holistically in order to identify their unique needs. Once they understand who you are as a patient, they’ll assist you in coordinating with nurse navigators and community resources in order to ensure that you get the guidance and support that’s right for you.

For example, they can help you find psychological therapy through our support groups. Or provide you with general counseling to help you maximize your quality of life as you go through treatment. Whatever makes the most sense for you. Our social workers are a resource that you can feel comfortable talking to about any questions that you may have.
