Dr. Giovanni Caforio of BMS Elected to Capital Health Board of Directors
TRENTON, NJ, Jan. 4, 2013 – Capital Health is pleased to announce that Dr. Giovanni Caforio of Princeton, president of U.S. Pharmaceuticals at Bristol-Myers Squibb, has been elected to its Board of Directors for a three-year term.

Plumeri, Jr., chairman of the board. “His exceptional leadership qualities and business experience will guide us well as we continue to advance Capital Health as a leading healthcare organization.

Dr. Caforio, who is a member of Bristol-Myers Squibb’s senior management team, joined the company in 2000 and served in a number of roles of increasing responsibility in Europe and the United States before being appointed to his current role in October 2011.
“I have chosen to work in the pharmaceutical industry because of my passion for bringing innovative new medicines to patients and improving their lives,” states Dr. Caforio. “I am delighted to now also have the opportunity to contribute to the continued success of Capital Health, an established leader in the delivery of health care to patients in our region.”
Dr. Caforio was born in Italy and received his M.D. from the University of Rome. He spent 12 years in various leadership positions at Abbott Laboratories prior to joining Bristol-Myers Squibb.
