Pediatric Hospitalist Program

David M. Pressel, MD, PHD, FAAP, FHM
Medical Director, Pediatric Hospitalist Program

Dr. Pressel is board certified in pediatrics and has worked as a pediatric hospitalist for more than two decades. He received his MD and PhD degrees from Washington University in St. Louis, MO and completed an internship and residency in pediatrics at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

As medical director of the Pediatric Hospitalist Program, Dr. Pressel oversees the quality, care delivery, staffing and performance improvement of the Pediatric Inpatient Unit, Newborn Nursery, and Pediatric Clinic. He collaborates with the Pediatric Emergency Department and community providers in the delivery of family-centered care and the development of clinical and operational protocols, procedures, and clinical pathways to foster excellent care of hospitalized children.

Before he joined Capital Health, Dr. Pressel was medical director of Inpatient Care at Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE. Dr. Pressel has practiced in multiple clinical settings in both community and children’s hospitals. Locally, he was a pediatric hospitalist at Temple University Children’s Medical Center and Bryn Mawr Hospital, as well as a consultant at Shriner’s Hospital for Children.

Dr. Pressel served as faculty at both Temple University School of Medicine as assistant professor of Pediatrics and as an associate professor at Thomas Jefferson University’s Jefferson Medical College. His research in diverse areas of pediatric medicine has been published in numerous medical journals, for which he has also served as a reviewer and physician editor. In addition, Dr. Pressel has been a frequent lecturer at pediatric medicine workshops, grand rounds, and conferences. He has served as a consultant for multiple corporations in the health care field on areas of pharmaceutical development, inpatient care insurance guidelines and medical case reviews.

In 2010, Dr. Pressel was a volunteer in Port au Prince, Haiti with Project Medishare, an organization that works to improve access to health care for Haitian children and their families.

Anjali Sharma-Moghe, DO
Associate Director, Pediatric Hospitalist Program

Dr. Sharma-Moghe is the associate director of the pediatric hospitalist program at Capital Health. She recieved her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine - Old Westbury, New York. She completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at State University of New York at Stony Brook, Stony Brook, New York. She is board certified in pediatrics.

Venkatarao Isola, MD

Dr. Venkatarao received his medical degree from Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in Bronx, New York where he also completed his internship and residency in pediatrics. He is board certified in pediatrics.

Laurel A. Kruse, MD

Dr. Kruse received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) Rutgers Medical School (now known as UMDNJ- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School) in Piscataway, NJ. She received her residency training in pediatrics at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA. She is board certified in pediatrics.

Jennifer Luan, MD

Dr. Luan received her medical degree and completed her residency at Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, New Jersey. She is board certified in pediatrics. She also is fluent in chinese.

Harry Mondestin, MD

Dr. Mondestin received his medical degree from Universite D'Etat D'Haiti, Port of Prince, Haiti and and completed his residency in pediatrics from the Brooklyn Jewish Hospital / Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He received his fellowship training in neonatology from Saint Peter's Healthcare System in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Dr. Mondestin is board certified in neonatal-perinatal medicine and pediatrics.

Christine Newman, DO

Dr. Newman received her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed her pediatric internship and residency at Cooper Health System / University Medical Center in Camden, New Jersey. Dr. Newman is board certified in pediatrics.

Nestor Yepes, MD

Dr. Yepes received his medical degree and completed his pediatric residency from Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He is board certified in pediatrics.
