Vice Chair, Department of Anatomic Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
Dr. Elmer Gamboa is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and fellowship trained in hematopathology.
Dr. Gamboa received his medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas, College of Medicine and Surgery, Manila Philippines and completed his residency in clinical and anatomic pathology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he was also chief resident in his final year. He continued his training by completing a hematopathology fellowship at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Before joining Capital Health, Dr. Gamboa practiced the majority of his career at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, where he served as chief of the Hematology Service in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. His expertise includes breast, gynecologic, gastro-intestinal, urologic, pulmonary, pediatric and adult hematopathology. He participated in graduate medical education by providing direct supervision and instruction of medical students and residents while at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and St. Peter’s University Hospital.
