The Stroke & Cerebrovascular Care Conference is an education program which fulfills the ongoing need of physicians, nurses and allied health professionals to remain current on the assessment and treatment of acute ischemic stroke, cerebral aneurysms and many acute neurovascular processes.
Our objective is to improve the delivery of care for patients by improving the performance of practicing physicians and other healthcare professionals as they care for patients with neurovascular disease. The latest treatment for acute stroke, aneurysms and vascular malformations, including advances in medical, surgical and endovascular technologies, will be discussed using didactic lectures, case presentations, audience polling and participation to present new neurovascular data and discuss challenging clinical cases. Regional and national faculty will present and discuss both traditional and advanced treatments as well as management strategies.
We are delighted to have Robert F. Spetzler, MD as our keynote speaker. Dr. Spetzler is the director, president and CEO of the Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI). Under his leadership, the BNI has become one of the leading neurological medical centers in the world.
This year’s program features presentations on the most current treatment techniques related to stroke, aneurysm and other neurovascular disorders. Attendees will learn from specialists in mobile stroke units and pre-hospital care; neurocritical care; neuroradiology; endovascular and surgical treatments for stroke and aneurysms; and intracranial and extracranial atherosclerosis.
Capital Health’s Capital Institute for Neurosciences is a leader in neuroscience care, offering the state’s largest and most advanced neuro ICU; the state’s first Mobile Stroke Unit [launching soon]; and recently becoming the only program with an in-hospital neurovascular simulator for research and training. Joint Commission-certified in stroke care at both of its medical centers, Capital Health Regional Medical Center is a Joint Commission Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center. Recognizing its commitment to nursing excellence, Capital Health has three times received Magnet recognition. The hospital system has also been awarded the American Heart Association’s Get with the Guidelines – Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award and the AHA’s Target – Stroke Honor Roll Award.
The program will benefit physicians, advanced practitioners, nurses, residents, and other clinicians in the specialties of neurology, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, critical care medicine, internal medicine, family medicine and primary care.
