Capital Health is Smoke-Free.

Scientific research continues to identify the use of tobacco products as a leading cause for stroke, cancer, and heart disease. As the area’s premier center for stroke and cancer care, Capital Health is making a stronger commitment to helping our neighbors take preventive measures against these diseases by implementing efforts to eliminate smoking and the use of tobacco products at all of our hospital and non-hospital sites.

By banning smoking on all Capital Health sites (including adjacent sidewalks, walkways, driveways and parking areas), we are taking the next logical step toward leading our community in stroke, cancer and cardiac care, while also creating an atmosphere that nurtures healing and recovery for our patients.

We would not be able to truly call ourselves a healthcare leader without exhausting every possible resource to promote prevention of these diseases. Of course, the decision whether or not to use tobacco products is an individual one. For those who wish to quit, there is help available.
