Meet the Center for Women's Health Team
Randi Protter, MD, serves as medical director of the Capital Health Center for Women's Health, an innovative new practice that specializes in the unique medical and health needs of women of all ages, with an emphasis on patient convenience.
Dr. Protter is board certified by the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine. She received her MD degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed a three-year medical residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey's Primary Care residency program at St. Peter's Medical Center. She received a BS in Biology at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dr. Protter is a clinical instructor in the Department of Medicine of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Prior to joining Capital Health, she was the medical director of the Women's Health and Counseling Center in Somerville, N.J.
Among Dr. Protter's awards is recognition as the USA honoree by the United Nations Association for contributing to “Women's Rights, Empowerment and Gender Equity.” She was named Outstanding Woman of the Year in Medicine by the Somerset County Commission on the Status of Women and received the Susan G. Komen Hero Award.
Dr. Protter is a frequently-invited speaker on women's health issues and has also appeared on television on “Later Today,” “The Today Show” and “Good Morning New Jersey.”
Sarah J. Wistreich, D.O.
Dr. Wistreich is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She is a graduate of UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a x-year residency, including the Women’s Health Fellowship Track, at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Wistreich received her BA in Biology from Ithaca College. She has conducted research and numerous presentations in the area of women’s health.
Kathleen Woods, MSN, FNP-BC

Kathleen received her nursing degree from Seton Hall University in South Orange N.J. and completed her Master's Degree in Nursing at The College of New Jersey in Ewing, N.J. She is a Board Certified Family Nurse practitioner with more than 20 years experience in the nursing field. She has practiced pediatrics, women's health, geriatrics, and family care for the past 9 years. Her history as an RN includes cardiac and intensive care as well as development of a research program running pharmaceutical clinical trials for cardiac and cholesterol medications.
Christine Hyde, PhD, MSW, LCSW
Dr. Christine Hyde is a noted sex therapist and social worker who specializes in the assessment and treatment of patients’ sexuality related issues.
Dr. Hyde is certified as a Sex Therapist/Diplomate of Sex Therapy by the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey. She completed her doctorate in Sexology from the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Francisco and received further post-graduate training at the Fogel Foundation in Washington DC. Dr. Hyde earned her Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Fordham University.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Hyde provides training for other clinicians in a range of continuing education programs. She also has been a lecturer and group facilitator at the Robert Wood Johnson medical School Human Sexuality Program for the past fifteen years, and a member of the program’s Curriculum Committee for the last eleven years.
