ALFREDO R. ABUD, MD

Dr. Alfredo Abud received his medical degree from the National University of Mexico City. He completed his residency and internship in general surgery at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton prior to completing his fellowship of vascular surgery at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

CHRISTOPHER J. GANNON, MD, FACS

Dr. Christopher Gannon Small 

Dr. Christopher Gannon is a fellowship trained surgeon who specializes in the field of surgical oncology with special expertise in cancers of the liver, bile ducts, and pancreatic cancers. Dr. Gannon also provides surgical care for cancers of the gastrointestinal tract, endocrine system, and skin. In addition to malignancies, Dr. Gannon is one of the only surgeons in the region providing comprehensive care for  benign diseases of the liver, bile ducts, and pancreas including cysts, stones, and biliary reconstruction.

STEVEN A. JOHNSON, MD, FACS

Dr. Steven Johnson Small 

Dr. Steven Johnson is medical director of both the Multi-Specialty Surgical Practice and Surgical Critical Care at Capital Health. In addition to providing state-of-the-art surgical care to critically ill and injured patients at Capital Health, Dr. Johnson is available to both medical and surgical colleagues alike for immediate consultation on complex or unusual general surgical and trauma cases. He is also available to assist other sub specialists in acute emergency situations that may arise in the operating room, emergency room, ICU, inpatient or outpatient setting (e.g. pelvic bleeding intraop for OB/GYN, massive hemorrhage during vascular emergencies, the outpatient acute abdomen, multisystem trauma, etc.).

Dr. Michael Kalina Small 

Dr. Michael Kalina is a fellowship trained critical care surgeon and acute care surgeon with extensive experience in trauma and emergency general surgery, neurocritical care, complex soft tissue wound management, complex hernia repair, and abdominal wall reconstruction.

MICHAEL E. KELLY, DO

Prior to joining Capital Health, Dr. Kelly was a surgical critical care fellow at Cooper University Medical Center in Camden, NJ where he received world-class training in both trauma surgery and critical care.

YURI ROJAVIN, MD

He received his fellowship training in surgical critical care at the University of Connecticut Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. He is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery.

FRANCIS E. ROSATO, MD, FACS

Dr. Francis Rosato Small 

Dr. Francis Rosato specializes in complex, minimally invasive surgical procedures to treat cancers in the gastrointestinal system (also known as the digestive system) and surrounding areas. He is one of the area’s foremost experts in advanced open, laparoscopic (minimally invasive), robotic (using the da Vinci® Surgical System) and ablative (burning or freezing of tissue) techniques. His medical focus is on the surgical treatment of cancers and advanced conditions of the digestive system, including achalasia (difficulty swallowing), hiatal hernia, abdominal wall reconstruction, Crohn’s, colitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
