The Link Between Heart Disease and Chronic Kidney Disease

Most people know what heart disease and chronic kidney disease are, but they may not know how the two are linked. Chronic kidney disease by itself and excessive protein in the urine are also risk factors for heart disease, but these factors are part of a cycle. Speak to your primary care doctor to determine your risk for one or both conditions.

Convenient dialysis services

Capital Health provides the area’s only hospital-based renal dialysis program for those with acute and chronic kidney disease.

"Our nephrologists, nurses, technicians, dietitians and staff provide quality care in a comfortable setting based on four decades of medical excellence," said Dr. Barry Cohen, a board certified nephrologist and medical director of the Capital Health Renal Dialysis Services program.

The Renal Dialysis Services program provides outpatient services morning, noon and night at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, and administers home dialysis services for qualifying patients who live in the greater Mercer County area.
