Nationally Recognized Pain Expert Joins Capital Health
Dr. Ricardo Cruciani joined Capital Health from Beth Israel Medical Center where he was vice chairman for the Department of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care, and chief, Pain Division, Department of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care. He was also director of the Center for Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation of New York.
A noted researcher, Dr. Cruciani has a PhD in pharmacology and completed a fellowship in pain management at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center following residencies in neurology and psychiatry.
“Dr. Cruciani brings a wealth of training, experience and research to our neurosciences institute,” said Dr. Erol Veznedaroglu, director of the Capital Institute
for Neurosciences and chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery. “I know he will continue to advance the clinical, education and research sides of pain management, and help patients who, despite previous interventions, have not found relief from their pain.
Widely published, Dr. Cruciani is on the editorial board of the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management and the World Journal of Gastroenterology and Pain and Therapy. Dr. Cruciani is the president-elect of the Eastern Pain Association, and previously served as clinical chair and director of the American Pain Society.
