Golf Tournament Scores Big for Capital Health
TRENTON, NJ – July 1, 2013 – A week’s worth of summer showers gave way to clear skies for the Capital Health Foundation 6th Annual Dr. Abraham George Memorial Golf Tournament held on June 12 at Mercer Oaks Golf Course.
The Homasote Company team from Ewing, NJ: Tom Wanders, Kevin DeHaven, Tournament Chairman Warren Flicker and Norm Sharlin.
The tournament, which hosted 163 golfers including business professionals, physicians, employees, friends and supporters of the health system, raised over $106,000 for the Chronic Disease Management Program that helps Capital Health’s most vulnerable patients receive the best care and prevent unnecessary hospital admission.
"We're very grateful to our community friends for their commitment to support the clinical services we provide," said Al Maghazehe, President and CEO of Capital Health. "This financial support plays an important role in ensuring we provide our community with the highest standard of care."
Tournament Chair Warren Flicker, CEO of Homasote Company, said, “The Mercer Oaks courses are comparable to any area private course, and the service and food are exceptional. We are thrilled to give back to the county by bringing the tournament here for the fourth year.”
The tournament featured a shamble format and tiered scoring where 96 golfers won prizes. Schachter Portnoy, LLC was the Title Sponsor of the tournament, and special thanks can be extended to the golf committee and over 30 volunteers who help to make the day memorable.
