Vascular Surgeon Joins Capital Health to Lead New Vascular Institute in Hopewell

Trenton, NJ - Dr. Joshua Eisenberg, a fellowship trained endovascular surgeon who specializes in treatment of the vascular system, has joined the medical staff at Capital Health as director of the new Vascular Institute at Capital Health Medical Center - Hopewell. Dr. Eisenberg joins Drs. Alfredo Abud, Christopher Gannon, Steven Johnson and Francis Rosato as part of the multispecialty Advanced Surgical Associates of New Jersey practice.

“With Dr. Eisenberg’s arrival, Capital Health is now able to expand its capabilities to complement physicians who work in the vascular services area, including but not limited to vascular surgeons, cardiologists, interventional radiologists, and nephrologists,” said Al Maghazehe, PhD, president and CEO of Capital Health. “Dr. Eisenberg will also oversee an interventional suite at Capital Health Medical Center - Hopewell. Patients who are not candidates for surgical treatment will be able to find advanced, minimally invasive endovascular treatments without having to travel to big cities like Philadelphia and New York City.”

Dr. Eisenberg will provide the full spectrum of treatment of the vascular system, including abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysms, carotid blockages, peripheral artery disease (PAD), and venous diseases including DVT and varicose veins, and other related conditions.

Prior to joining Advanced Surgical Associates of New Jersey and Capital Health, Dr. Eisenberg was chief of the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Methodist Hospital (one of the Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals) and an assistant professor of Surgery in the Department of Surgery’s Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Eisenberg received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and completed his internship and residency in surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He completed his fellowship training in vascular surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital (part of the University of Pennsylvania Health System) in Philadelphia. He is board certified in general surgery and vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
