Oncology Surgeon Joins Capital Health, Provides Complex Procedures for Cancer and Digestive Health

Trenton, NJ (January 16, 2012) - Dr. Christopher Gannon, a fellowship trained surgeon who specializes in the field of surgical oncology, has joined the medical staff at Capital Health as part of the Capital Health Center for Digestive Health and Advanced Surgical Associates of New Jersey.

Dr. Gannon joins Dr. Francis Rosato at Advanced Surgical Associates as two of a select few New Jersey surgeons who have experience treating a variety of very complex benign digestive conditions and cancers anywhere in the digestive system.  In addition to the digestive tract, Dr. Gannon focuses on cancers of the endocrine (gland) system and skin. Both Dr. Gannon and Dr. Rosato also provide their expertise as part of the Capital Health Center for Digestive Health.

Dr. Gannon received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons after completing his undergraduate education at Yale University. He completed his general surgical residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. He also completed fellowship training in surgical oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Gannon most recently practiced medicine at The Cancer Institute of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where he was Assistant Professor of Surgery and director of the liver tumor study group in the Division of Surgical Oncology.
