Eileen Horton Appointed Vice President of Patient Services & Chief Nursing Officer
Trenton, NJ (March 5, 2012) - Eileen M. Horton, of East Windsor, NJ, has been appointed as vice president of patient services and chief nursing officer for Capital Health. She will be responsible for patient care services, emergency medical services, adult and pediatric clinics and the emergency departments.
Horton will continue developing and implementing nursing strategy and system policies to ensure the high quality patient care that Capital Health has developed over the years.
Horton received a Diploma in Nursing from St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing, NY, a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Graceland College, IA, a Master of Science in Management degree from Thomas Edison State College, NJ, and a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Phoenix.
Beginning her career as a maternity nurse, Horton has held positions of increasing responsibility including, most recently, vice president of Strategic Transformation at Capital Health. Other previous positions include director of Maternal Child Health and division director of Nursing at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, NJ, chief nursing officer at Tenet City Avenue Hospital, PA, director of Quality & Risk Management at Virtua Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, NJ, and director of Maternal Child Health and Medical-Surgical Nursing at Jersey City Medical Center, NJ.
Horton is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the Association for Women’s Health, Obstetrics and Neonatal Nursing and Sigma Theta Tau.
