HOPEWELL, N.J. - With several Bucks County hospitals expanding in recent years, Capital Health-Mercer has experienced a drop in Pennsylvania patients coming across the river to the Trenton medical center.
Larry DiSanto, Capital Health's executive vice president and chief operating officer, believes the health system's $530 million replacement hospital for Mercer under construction here will reverse that trend - and then some.
"We're only three miles from the Scudder Falls Bridge," said DiSanto, referencing the span across the Delaware River that separates the two states. "We think we'll recapture [Bucks County patients]. We expect we'll draw patients from all over.
