Michelle L. Dougherty, MD
Medical Director, Epilepsy Program
Dr. Dougherty is a board certified, fellowship trained specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy. She received her medical degree from MCP Hahnemann University School of Medicine and completed her fellowship training in EEG and epilepsy at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH.
Previously, Dr. Dougherty was the director of the Neurology Residency Program, Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, and EEG Laboratory at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. She also was an instructor at the Department of Neurology at Brown University School of Medicine. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Dougherty has been invited to lecture at various institutions, including grand rounds at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Mass., Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, Mass., Elkins Park Hospital in Elkins Park, PA, and Einstein Medical Center. She has been published in medical journals such as Epilepsia and Epilepsy Research. Dr. Dougherty is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Epilepsy Society. Dr. Dougherty diagnoses and treats patients with all forms of epilepsy and also has special interest in the treatment of women with epilepsy and its management during pregnancy.
