Center for Neurologic Emergency Medicine

Capital Health offers a specialized emergency department just for neurologic emergencies, known as our Center for Neurologic Emergency Medicine. The Center is the first dedicated program of its kind in the country, and it helps patients suffering from symptoms or complaints that are neurologic in nature and present in an emergency setting.

These symptoms can include head or spine trauma or injury, change in mental status, vision problems, vertigo, numbness, headaches, and seizures among a multitude of other disturbances that may indicate a neurologically focused emergency. Patients seen at the center, located at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, can be seen more rapidly and have the focused attention of a team dealing only with neurologic conditions.

The center is led by Dr. Michael D'Ambrosio, who is uniquely board certified in both emergency medicine and neurology as well as vascular neurology.
