The Center for Sleep Medicine at Capital Health

Capital Health has been providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment for sleep related problems for more than 20 years.

Our Sleep Centers were the first in Mercer County.

At the present time, Capital Health is the largest fully accredited sleep center in Mercer and Bucks counties. Between both campuses, Capital Health offers fourteen private rooms dedicated to sleep testing for patients who have a wide variety of problems related to sleep and wakefulness.

As sleep centers fully accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, we ensure that all patients treated at Capital Health benefit from a complete sleep evaluation and individualized treatment plan.

Symptoms of sleep disorders might include:
  • Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep
  • Unrefreshing sleep
  • Excessive daytime sleepiness (the inability to remain alert in an acceptable manner throughout the day)
  • Loud snoring/irregular breathing during sleep
  • Restless legs or body movements disrupting sleep
  • Unusual behaviors while asleep, such as night terrors, sleepwalking, or seizures
  • In children, additional symptoms of hyperactivity, behavioral problems, poor school performance, and even ADHD have been linked to treatable sleep disorders.

Because this testing is performed at night in the Sleep Center, in most cases, patients do not need to miss a day of work or school. Daytime testing is available for shift workers.
