Sibling Preparation Class

November 15, 2014

This 1 1/2 hour class helps prepare children ages 2 1/2 and up for the arrival of their new brother or sister. Includes a craft activity, discussion about babies, and a maternity unit tour.  Please bring a doll or stuffed animal for a diapering activity and a photo of the child participant for the craft activity.

Breastfeeding Moms Group

November 18, 2014

Held in the conference room at Capital Health - Hamilton. A breastfeeding discussion group for expectant women interested in breastfeeding, mothers and their nursing infants welcome. Facilitated by a Capital Health nurse/lactation consultant.


Total Knee Replacement Preparation Class

November 18, 2014 Taught by Capital Health's orthopaedic-trained Magnet nurses, this class is designed to provide patients with an overview of expectations for before, during and after their total knee replacement procedure.

Refresher Prepared Childbirth Class

November 18, 2014 An intensive two hours of prepared childbirth for expectant parents who have previously attended prepared childbirth classes and wish to review labor coping skills. Does NOT include maternity tour. Plan to finish class within a month of your due date

Breastfeeding Preparation Class

November 19, 2014 This 2 1/2 hour class to be taken before the birth of the baby.

Caregiving for the Person with Dementia: Facing Challenging Situations

November 22, 2014 Part of the Alzheimer's Association's Annual Caregivers Conference, Dr. G. Peter Gliebus, a fellowship trained Alzheimer’s specialist, will discuss management of challenging behaviors and associated medical and behavioral interventions.
